Excell BizRoots: AgriLeaders Mentorship is a high-impact, hands-on mentorship program designed to empower Africa’s next generation of agribusiness leaders. Through intensive training, one-on-one mentorship, and practical business support, participants will gain the skills, tools, and networks needed to transform agricultural ideas into profitable ventures.

🎯 Program Objectives

  • Equip young agripreneurs with foundational and advanced agribusiness knowledge.

  • Cultivate leadership and entrepreneurial thinking in agriculture.

  • Promote sustainability, innovation, and financial literacy in farming.

  • Connect mentees with industry mentors, investors, and farming communities.

  • Support the launch or scaling of real-world agribusiness projects.

👥 Target Participants

  • Age: 18–35 years

  • Location: Across Africa (priority to rural or underserved communities)

  • Background: Aspiring or early-stage agribusiness entrepreneurs, recent agri-graduates, cooperative leaders, and young farmers

  • Passionate about sustainable agriculture, food systems, and agribusiness innovation

🧭 Program Structure

Module Description
1. Agribusiness Foundations Business planning, market analysis, and agribusiness models.
2. Sustainable Farm Practices Climate-smart agriculture, soil health, water management.
3. Agritech & Innovation Leveraging technology, digital tools, and smart farming.
4. Financial Literacy & Investment Readiness Bookkeeping, funding, pricing, and pitching.
5. Leadership & Personal Growth Communication, strategic thinking, team building.
6. Capstone Project Each mentee develops and pitches a real agribusiness idea.

🤝 Mentorship Component

  • 1-on-1 mentor pairings with experienced agribusiness professionals

  • Bi-weekly check-ins to track progress and solve challenges

  • Peer learning groups for collaboration and accountability

  • Guest sessions with industry leaders and Excell Africa Farms executives

📅 Duration & Timeline

  • 12 weeks (Flexible mix of virtual + in-person engagements)

  • Two cohorts per year: March–May & September–November

  • Short business idea or agribusiness concept (max 1 page)

  • CV or short bio

  • Letter of motivation (250 words)

  • Reference or endorsement from local agri-cooperative or mentor
